James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department
The James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department (JCBVFB) has been in operation since 1948. They provide service to the Toano area, in collaboration with 24 hour paid staff, and operate out of Fire Station 1. Click here to learn more about the JCBVFB.
Emergency Management offers Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) that educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area, and trains them in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event until professional emergency responders and critical resources arrive.
