    According to the Department of Justice, an estimated 17.6 million Americans were victims of identity theft in 2014. One of the most successful ways of preventing identity theft is by shredding documents that contain personal information these thieves use. Join James City County Police Department for a Shred-A-Thon on March 25 benefiting the Department’s annual “Shop with a Cop” event and other crime prevention programs. “Shop with a Cop” is a program assisting underprivileged children and families in James City County. Fight identity theft while helping a child have a happy holiday.
