James City County Parks & Recreation has it all! Full day to half day options all summer long. Camps begin on the day listed and are grouped by age. Registration information appears at the end of the camp listing.

Week of July 3

Little Tykes Summer Camp (ages 3-5; must be potty-trained)
Monday-Thursday through Aug. 17, 1:30-4:30 p.m.  
$65/week; $60 for JC/W residents
*no camp July 4/weekly fee reduced

Enjoy creative arts and crafts, outdoor play and interactive stories in each fun-filled week of adventure. Sign up for one or multiple weeks!

REC Connect Summer Camp is for ages 5-14 (must have completed kindergarten). Registrations accepted on a space available basis. Our licensed camps run Monday-Friday through Aug. 25, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. at Clara Byrd Baker, J. Blaine Blayton, Matoaka, Laurel Lane (formerly Rawls Byrd) and Stonehouse Elementary Schools and Lois S. Hornsby Middle School. Weekly Fees: Full-time (4 or 5 days) – $110/week; $105 for JC/W residents and includes field trip fees. $10 discount available for second and subsequent children attending full-time. Part-time (3 days or less) – $90/week; $85 for JC/W residents and includes field trip fees. Learn about the many different species of wildlife and their adaptations for survival! Come explore land, water and sky to discover predator and prey relationships, habitat diversity and survival. In this hands-on camp, campers collect, identify and study fascinating marine creatures up close and personal. Dissect owl pellets, go searching for aquatic animals, build bird’s nests and discover our amazing furred and feathered friends. Includes a field trip to Virginia Wildlife Museum. This two-day SUP class introduces kids to a whole new way on the water!
Paddleboarding is all about balance, so age is not a barrier to becoming proficient at this cool sport. Kids will learn about Stand Up Paddleboarding from the anatomy of the board and paddle, how to paddle out, proper stance and paddling techniques all while learning water safety while out on the boards.
