The Board of Zoning Appeals denied a request for a variance to Section 24-258(b), Yard Regulations, of the James City County Zoning Ordinance to allow a deck within the 35-foot rear setback. On a separate motion, a request was granted for a variance to Section 24-256, Setback Requirements, of the James City County Zoning Ordinance. This variance reduces the front yard setback to 28 feet from Howard Drive for the existing structure.
