Old News Road Improvements
Dec. 14, 2012
Scope of Work
The Old News Road Improvements project is a VDOT project that is locally administered by James City County. The project consists of widening 0.39 miles of two-lane pavement, re-grading of roadside ditches and minor closed system drainage improvements. Old News Road connects News Road and Monticello Avenue and serves as a truck access point for the retail shops in Monticello Marketplace. This project will remove the severe crown in the road cross section through a process of milling down the existing asphalt and subbase, providing a normal crowned road cross section.
