Freedom Park 4 – Freedom Park Shelters and Parking

November 2014

Scope of Work

This project consists of the construction of a pervious paver parking lot adding 30 parking spaces, two picnic shelters (one 24 foot x 44 foot/one 16 foot x16 foot), some additional sidewalks, accommodations for a playground and a 30 foot by 40 foot patio on the rear of the Freedom Park Interpretive Center.

Status of Project

Site clearing, grading, patio, playground and most sidewalks are complete. The playground has not been opened pending completion of the new parking lot which has been held up a week by a misaligned sidewalk. Dominion has installed conduit and pedestals for both shelters and will return when the shelters are complete to pull wire. Shelter fabrication has been delayed at the factory. The shelters are currently scheduled to arrive on site Dec. 5. Construction is currently on track to be complete prior to the Christmas Holiday.
