Stonehouse Elementary School Stormwater Facility Stormwater BMP Repair and Retrofit
Mar. 4, 2014
Scope of Work
This project consists of the repair of a failed stormwater management facility and the eroded outfall channel that receives the discharge from the facility. The project will also retrofit the facility with a constructed wetland to improve the water quality treatment of the stormwater discharged from the school site.
Status of Project
The design of the project was completed. The plan was submitted to the Planning Division for review and received approval. The basin’s outfall channel was redesigned to avoid any work on the adjacent property as an easement could not be obtained for the offsite work. The project was bid and a contractor selected. The project construction began on October 1st and was completed on November 7th. Remaining work involves the installation of the wetland plants in the spring, which is the best time to install the plants. Some additional work was completed in February to address as-built plan deficiencies.
Completion of the construction portion of the project was on time. Installation of wetlands plants to occur in the April to complete the project.
