Virginia Green is a statewide program that works to reduce the environmental impacts of Virginia’s tourism industry. It is run as a partnership between the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the Virginia Tourism Corporation, and the Virginia Hospitality and Tourism Association. Participating businesses “self-certify” that they are committed to eliminating Styrofoam use, reduce waste and increase recycling, use water efficiently, and conserve energy. Certified participants are identified by the Virginia Green logo. For more information about Virginia Green, or to apply for certification, head over to the Virginia Green.
