K.1 - Participate in choral speaking and recite rhymes.
K.2 – Follow one step and two step directions.
Begin to ask how and why questions.
K.3 – Begin to follow rules for conversation.
Listen and speak in informal conversations.

The students will-
- Hear a smoke alarm
- See and touch a firefighter in gear – one piece of gear at a time
- Practice crawling under smoke "Stay Low and Go"
The fire educator will coordinate the fire engine (if available) and firefighters, and will bring the following:
- Firefighter and gear
- Smoke alarm
- Reinforcement materials
