Participate!

The 2009 Update to the Comprehensive Plan, like previous updates, has a large public input effort incorporated throughout the planning and policy development process.  This Plan is for your community and your comments have a direct effect on what actions the County undertakes and the goals that are set for the next 5 to 10 years!

Photo: Community Conversations 2003There are many opportunities over the 22-month process to contribute to the development of the plan and make sure your voice is heard.  Subscribe to the JCC Planning and Development e-mail subscription list to receive updates about these upcoming events and more!

How can you participate?

Attend a Community Conversation!

Community Conversations are rounds of town meetings conducted in various venues throughout the County. The first round of meetings in April 2008, involved listening to your needs, ideas, important issues, and overall vision for the County. The second round of meetings in August and September 2008, focused on feature expert presentations and questionnaires on 8 hot topics heard from you and your neighbors during Round 1.  See videos of the presentations.  Impacts of Growth/Housing

No more Community Conversations will be held with this Comprehensive Plan update, but please continue to follow the update through the Steering Committee.

 Contribute online!

Review Community Participation Team and Steering Committee meeting materials on the web.  Then visit the Comprehensive Plan blog (coming soon!) to see what team members are saying about the direction of the Plan and how they are responding to your comments.

Or, you can submit your own comments, ideas, and visions by using our online public input form.
