The Planning Commission


Seven members, one from each of the five electoral districts and two at-large, are appointed for staggered four-year terms by the Board of Supervisors (BOS). The Commission is responsible for preparing land use and planning studies; land development ordinances for consideration by the BOS; approves subdivision applications; advises the BOS on rezoning requests and other zoning map changes. The Commission is empowered by the Code of Virginia.
