Miss the Understanding Rural - Expert Panel? – Beginning July 8, watch Understanding Rural on the County's YouTube channel or on DVD from the James City County Library or Williamsburg Library. You can watch on your own or even host your HOA, club or organization for an Understanding Rural video viewing and discussion party.
Stay tuned for more information about how you can help define what 'rural' means to the County and provide input at two Thinking Rural discussion sessions scheduled for July. Visit jamescitycountyva.gov/planning/rural for updates.
Are you ready? - This is a perfect time to start, or add to, your emergency food stockpile. Anyone who has gone to a County grocery store the day before a tropical storm or hurricane knows that shelves are often cleaned out of bread, water and batteries.
Imagine if our neighbors living in Norfolk or Virginia Beach are evacuated and they decide to pull off of the Interstate to find shelter and supplies in James City County. While it would be a good day for local businesses, it would be a bad day for local residents who have waited to prepare.

Survey says… – In an effort to understand more about the recycling needs of County businesses, the Environmental Coordinator's office has created a brief online survey. The survey consists of 17 questions and should only take a few minutes to complete. The survey may be found on the website.
Results from the survey will be used to assist businesses in the County with their efforts to recycle. For more information, call 757-259-5375.
Get your culture here – Tune in to the Community Channel on Cox Cable Channel 46 to watch the popular Classic Arts Showcase.
