All aboard! – The restoration of the Norge Depot is complete. The Depot, originally built on Peach Street in 1907, was a gathering place for the early settlers to Norge. It was closed in 1969 and saved from demolition through the efforts of local citizens lead by Mrs. Frances Hamilton. The County acquired it in the 1990s and used Federal grant funding to relocate it adjacent to the James City County Library in 2006.
It is now home to an educational center, museum and community meeting space sponsored by the Norge Depot Association and the JCC Historical Commission. The Depot is free and open to public on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-noon and Sundays from 2-4 p.m.
