Communications Tower Height Simulation

James City County Landfill & Regional Jail

 

Notice is hereby given to the general public that two tests will be conducted on Wednesday, December 17, 2003, to simulate the height of 380-foot and 280-foot tall communications towers. The first test will take place at 1204 Jolly Pond Road (approximately 3,000-feet west of the entrance to the JCC Landfill). The property is further identified as Parcel (1-4) on JCC Tax Map (30-1). A helicopter will be in the air at the height of the proposed tower from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The second test will take place at 9320 Merrimac Trail (Regional Jail). The property is further identified as Parcel (1-11) on JCC Tax Map (60-1). The balloon will be in the air at this location from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

 

This test is being done as part of the 800 Mhz. Radio System which will serve James City County and York County communications and emergency services. In case of unfavorable weather conditions, the balloon test will be held on Friday, December 19, 2003 at the same schedule listed above.
