Attention Grinder Pump Owners
Should you lose electric power in your home, you will not have sewer service. To avoid a potential backup, please do not run any more water than necessary. For more information, call (757) 229-7421.
The James City /Williamsburg Community Center, 5301 Longhill Road, is now open as the primary shelter for community emergencies.
Bring clothing, personal hygiene items, and medicines, activities for children, bedding, baby formula, and items. Pets are not allowed at the shelter.

At this time, James City County is not in the Governor's Hurricane Evacuation Zone. If you are in an area proned to flooding then you should make plans accordingly to protect your property.

When a storm threatens our area, tune to your local radio or television stations. The County's Emergency Hotline Number (757) 875-2424 will provide the latest information on the storm's progress, evacuation recommendations, and preparedness actions. Citizens with Special Needs
Sign up for Heads Up, (757) 564-2144, a database system activated only when County emergency personnel respond to an emergency in the home or during a countywide disaster. All information is kept confidential.
