James City County Hurricane Recovery Update - September 23, 2003

Teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Virginia will be in James City County giving out information to residents regarding assistance and claims. County residents should be aware that scams may happen during this time. FEMA and State teams WILL NOT be asking for money or collecting fees. All national and state officials will have photo IDs and residents are encouraged to ask for identification. Call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362.


Residents with emergency needs for water can bring their own jugs/containers any time to these locations to receive water: the County's Fire Stations -- Fire Station 1 (3135 Forge Road in Toano), Station 4 (5312 Olde Towne Road) and Fire Station 5 (3201 Monticello Avenue), Toano Middle School (7817 Richmond Road), D. J. Montague Elementary (5380 Centerville Road), and Stonehouse Elementary (3651 Rochambeau Drive).
