(James City County) On Saturday, June 21, 2003, Joe Hertzler of Hertzler & George will present "Designing with Nature A New Aesthetic" from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Williamsburg/James City County Community Center, 5301 Longhill Road. The workshop is free and reservations are not needed.
Hertzler & George is a local design and build landscape company. According to Joe, "A natural design aesthetic holds the promise of lower maintenance and simple beauty. This workshop will cover the elements of a landscape designed with nature, including asymmetry, organic forms, native plants and indigenous materials. A natural design also means lower maintenance and simple beauty."
Attendees will also receive the new "Let’s be Water Smart Landscaping Guide," a twenty-six page guide to drought tolerant gardening and landscaping in James City County. The guide is also available at local nurseries.
"Let's be Water Smart" is a public/private water management initiative of the James City Service Authority. The goal of Let's be Water Smart is to promote responsible water usage in James City County. For more information contact Lisa Meddin, Water Conservation Coordinator, at 253-6859.
