James City County schedules meetings in Five Forks

Five Forks area residents, business owners and other county citizens are invited to attend and offer comments at upcoming meetings of the James City County Five Forks Area Study Committee.
The meetings are set for Wednesday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, August 11, at 4 p.m. Both meetings will be held at Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School, 3131 Ironbound Road. Discussion topics will include land use, transportation, and economic issues in the Five Forks area.
Nearly 60 citizens attended the first meeting of the Committee, which was created by the Board of Supervisors to conduct a comprehensive study of the area over the next three months and recommend principles for future development. A summary of comments by citizens and the results of a questionnaire distributed at the July 7 meeting may be found at www.jccEgov.com. JCC TV48 is airing video highlights of the community meeting on July 20 and from July 22-27, at 1, 5 and 9 o'clock mornings and evenings.
The Committee will draft guiding principles and forward a recommendation to the County's Planning Commission.
