(James City County) The James City Service Authority's Ironbound Road Water Storage Facility received an Award of Merit for Best Institutional Public Building from the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate's (HRACRE) 2004 Excellence in Development Design Awards Program. Judges' comments included: "Displaying a refreshing approach to a typically pragmatic solution, the project features materials that will weather well and won't become rusting eyesores. With all the elements carefully placed, the building is symmetrical in its massing. We all appreciated the team's architectural commitment to be a good neighbor." Architectural design by Hopke & Associates. Engineering design by AES Consulting Engineers. Construction by General Contractor's Henderson, Inc., and the Crom Corporation.
