Fire Department Responds to House Fire in James Terrace

JAMES CITY COUNTY, VA -- James City County Fire Department responded to a structure fire on October 17, 2005, on Lee Drive in the James Terrace community. York County fire units arrived first at 4:18 p.m. and found fire in the garage. James City County units arrived at 4:20 with Williamsburg and James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Departments also assisting. The fire was under control at 4:42. There were no fire related injuries--one person was evaluated by EMS staff. The garage, kitchen and a bedroom sustained severe fire damage. The remainder of the home received smoke damage. There were four people displaced. Red Cross responded and assisted with temporary living arrangements. James City County Fire Marshals are investigating; the area of fire origin is in the garage.
