Yavorsky joins James City County Economic Development Team

James City County announces that Steven T. Yavorsky has joined the County’s Office of Economic Development as its Assistant Director March 6, 2006. He will have primary responsibility for overseeing the office’s research and information systems in addition to assisting with its various marketing activities concerning business retention and attraction and new business development.
Yavorsky was previously Marketing Analyst with Hanover County's Department of Economic Development. Prior to that, he was a marketing manager for Virginia's Gateway Region. “Steven’s depth and breadth of experience on Virginia's economic development scene at both the regional and local levels is expected to be a great benefit to our program here,” said James City County's Economic Development Director Keith Taylor.
Yavorsky, a native of the Petersburg area, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from James Madison University. He is also a graduate of the Virginia Institute for Economic Development and the Basic Economic Development Course at the University of North Carolina.
