In the May 19 episode of James City County’s new FYI television program, host Eric Williams takes viewers to see one of the newest ways to conserve water – rain barrels. In the peak summer months, 60 to 70 percent of municipal water used by James City County residents is used for landscape irrigation. Rain barrels collect and store rainwater from your roof for use during periods of limited rainfall to water lawns, gardens or wash cars. Also featured in FYI, A.J. Cole, Sr., Voter Registrar, shares voter registration information for the November election. Wrapping up the program is a calendar of events and activities. FYI airs at 11 a.m., 1, 7 and 9 p.m. on JCC TV48 Cox Cable or On DEMAND at jccEgov.com/jcctv48.
