Williamsburg Area Transport (WAT) announces Continuation of All-Day $1.50 Fare

Date: November 21, 2008
Contact: Gary Cosman, Williamsburg Area Transit Authority

Phone: 757-220-5493

The Williamsburg Area Transit Authority  Board of Directors approved continuation of the popular $1.50 all-day ride fare until April 30, 2009 at its November Board meeting. For one fare payment of $1.50 residents, students and visitors can continue to ride Williamsburg Area Transport (WAT) buses as many times as they like without paying an additional fare or transfer fee.

William & Mary students and local Secondary and Middle students continue to ride free with their ID and children under six pay no fare with an adult.

Senior citizens have the option to pay 50 cents per ride or utilize the daily pass for multiple rides.

The fare continuation announcement comes on the heels of the recently expanded service to the Marquis Shopping Center in York County and the new Sunday transit service, which begins November 23.

Detailed information can be obtained in Schedule Brochures aboard the WAT buses, by calling WATA Headquarters at 757-220-5493, or online at
