Over 100 citizens attended the first two Comprehensive Plan Community Conversations in August to hear presentations on eight hot topics: impacts of growth, population needs, quality of growth/community character, water, economic climate, environment, housing, and transportation. Now you have the opportunity to browse informational boards, talk with experts on each topic, and fill out a questionnaire at the Comprehensive Plan Expo.
Monday, September 8 6 - 9 p.m. James River Elementary School, 8901 Pocahontas Trail
Attendees can come any time between 6 and 9 p.m. to participate in the Expo. All attendees will be entered for a chance to win door prizes including Convenience Center coupons, JCC Titleist golf balls, and more!
Can’t make it? Read the informational essays on each hot topic that are available on www.jccplans.org and then fill out the questionnaire from the comfort of your own home. Other ways to participate include calling the hotline 259-4990 or attending the Steering Committee meetings scheduled to begin in mid-September.
The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. Reviewed every 5 years, it is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, and transportation.
