Over 50 citizens attended the Comprehensive Plan Community Conversation this week to discuss the impacts of growth, population needs, quality of growth/community character, and water. The next four hot topics - environment, housing, transportation, and economic climate - will be the focus of expert presentations at our next Community Conversation:
Tuesday, August 19 6 p.m. Jamestown High School, 3751 John Tyler Highway
Citizens can also attend the Comprehensive Plan Expo and talk with an expert or view information on all eight hot topics:
Monday, September 8 6 p.m. James River Elementary School, 8901 Pocahontas Trail
All attendees will be entered for a chance to win door prizes including Convenience Center coupons, JCC Titleist golf balls, and more!
Can’t make it? Learn more about the eight hot topics and fill out a questionnaire from the comfort of your own home at www.jccplans.org; visit a Listening Station; call the hotline 259-4990; or attend the Steering Committee meetings scheduled to begin in September.
The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. Reviewed every 5 years, it is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, and transportation.
