As of Oct. 1, regulations on outdoor water use for James City Service Authority (JCSA) customers under the James City County Outdoor Water Use Ordinance will end for the year 2009.  Regulations on outdoor water use will go back into effect for the year 2010 on May 1 through Sept. 30.

The JCSA is the largest utility in Virginia that is primarily reliant on groundwater for its water supply system.  During our peak season in the summer, water usage dramatically increases by 60 percent to 70 percent due to outdoor water use activities such as watering landscapes and irrigating lawns.  The outdoor water use regulations for JCSA customers have been in effect since 2002.

Ordinance details can be found on the County’s Web site, www.jccEgov.com/jcsa under Outdoor Water Use.

Customers also may call the Outdoor Water Info Line at (757) 259-4152 for a recorded message or JCSA Customer Service, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (757) 253-6800
