Neighborhood Connections is now accepting 2010 Citizen Leadership Academy applications

October 15, 2009

Neighborhood Connections’ 2010 Citizen Leadership Academy (CLA) prepares citizen leaders to make positive contributions to the common good of James City County.

How can attending Neighborhood Connections’ 2010 CLA do this? We’ll start by sharing information; exploring communication methods; and addressing the components of leadership. We then look at which direction James City County is heading and provide you with the necessary tools and skills needed to effectively engage with your public officials.

Are you interested in learning how to share the responsibility for ensuring that the right services and quality of life are available for you and others in James City County? Sign up now!  The academy is open to all JCC residents and JCC employees.  The academy is eight sessions which will run Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from January 25 through March 23, 2010. The final session is a graduation ceremony. Please plan to attend all sessions. The class is limited to 25 participants. Many thanks to our good neighbor sponsor Angela Dougherty, Managing Broker at William E. Wood and Associates Realtors, for providing space and refreshments for the classes.

For more information or an application, email us at or call 259-5422. Applications are also available online at
