DEADLINE TO REQUEST ABSENTEE BALLOT BY MAIL APPROACHING - Voters May Vote Absentee In-Person Over the Weekend

RICHMOND, VA - Virginians who choose to cast an absentee ballot by mail for the November 3 election must submit their application by Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Completed Applications must be submitted to the local registrar’s office by 5 pm ET on the 27th.


In order to vote absentee, voters must meet one of the eligibility requirements on the Virginia Absentee Ballot Application. Eligible voters may cast their absentee ballot by mail or in person at their local registrar’s office.


For those voters who wish to vote absentee in person, voter registration offices will be open for 8 hours on Saturday 10-24-09, and Saturday 10-31-09, in addition to normal weekday hours. Please contact the local registration office for specific hours. The deadline to vote absentee in person is October 31, 2009.
