JCC Police to Offer Firearm Safety Class

Beginning in November, the James City County Police Department will offer a free firearm safety class to the public. The one session class will cover basic safety, handling, and storage.
Interested adults can attend November 14 or November 28. Youth ages 11 - 17 can attend December 5 or December 12.
The class will meet at the Law Enforcement Center at 5087 John Tyler Highway from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. The class does not include hands-on training and personal firearms should be left at home in a secure location.
Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Call the James City County Police Department at 253-1800 to register.
Grant funding received from the National Rifle Association Foundation and Project ChildSafe was used to purchase class materials and gunlocks. Free gunlocks are available at the class or by calling Sergeant Steve Humphries at 253-2481.
