First Night wants you to get involved in the festivities

October 13, 2009
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Plans are underway for First Night, Williamsburg’s 17th annual New Year’s Eve celebration. This non-alcoholic, family celebration is totally supported by its volunteers, who are sure to have great fun at this festive event! The First Night Board of Directors hopes you will help spread the word by sharing these volunteer opportunities with your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. It’s a great way for newcomers to our area to meet people and see some of the best entertainment Williamsburg has to offer. The Board would like you to recommend the event to individuals or groups that might enjoy being involved, such as church and civic organizations, area businesses, neighborhoods or singles groups. They would be pleased to make a brief (5-10 minute) presentation at one of your meetings.

Events will begin at 5 p.m. and most volunteer assignments will be between 4:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. There are also volunteer opportunities available prior to New Year’s Eve. Anyone volunteering for as little as two hours before or on the evening of the celebration will receive free admission to the entire event.  If you would like more information on how to get involved, contact Rita Grove, volunteer chair at 757-564-9134 or email at info@firstnightwilliamsburg.org
