Public Hearing Notice

The Planning Commission of James City County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in the County Government Center Board Room, 101-F Mounts Bay Road, James City County, Virginia, to consider the following:


SUP-0014-2009 Chickahominy Riverfront Park.  Mr. Aaron Small has applied on behalf of James City County for a Special Use Permit to allow phased redevelopment of the park to include camping, boating, swimming, and other facilities.  The site is located at 1350 John Tyler Hwy and can be further identified as JCC RE Tax Map No. 3430100002.  The parcel is zoned PL, Public Lands and designated by the Comp Plan as Park, Public, or Semi-Public Open Space.  Recommended uses include buffers to historic sites, educational resources, and as areas for public recreation and enjoyment. 


SUP-0016-2009, JCC Police Headquarters.   Mr. Shawn Gordon has applied on behalf of James City County for a Special Use Permit to allow for the construction of the new Police headquarters. The site is located at 4600 Opportunity Way, and can be further identified as JCC RE Tax Map No. 3210100016.  The site zoned PL, Public Lands and is designated by the Comp Plan as Lightfoot Mixed-Use.  Recommended uses for Lightfoot Mixed-Use in this area include a mixture of public uses and commercial, office, and limited industrial in support of the relocated Williamsburg Community Hospital.

 

SUP-0013-2009: Cardinal Acres Two-Family Dwelling. Mr. Michael Putt has applied for a Special Use Permit to allow for the construction of a two-family dwelling. The site is located at 114 Cardinal Acres Drive and can be further identified as JCC RE Tax Map No. 4640400006A.  The parcel is zoned R2, General Residential, with proffers, and is designated by the Comp Plan as Moderate Density Residential. Recommended uses for Moderate Density Residential include townhouses, apartments, attached cluster housing, recreation areas, and manufactured home parks and subdivisions in accordance with location standards.
