Fire and EMS units, with 19 personnel, from the James City County Fire Department responded at 10:55 a.m. on Christmas Eve (12/24/09) for the report of a structure fire at 128 Pasbehegh Drive (First Colony subdivision), in James City County. First arriving units found light smoke coming from the second floor of a two-story residential structure. Firefighters made a search of the home and quickly attacked and contained the fire to the room of origin.  Surrounding areas and the attic were checked for extension with a small amount of fire in the return air ductwork in the attic.

The structure had extensive fire damage to the room of origin with varying degrees of smoke damage to the remainder of the home. The local chapter of the Red Cross was on scene and provided assistance.

The cause of this fire is under investigation by the James City County Fire Marshal’s Office.
