Public Input Needed on Gordon Creek Watershed Plan

James City County will hold a public review and comment meeting on the Gordon Creek Watershed draft plan on March 11, 2010 at 7 p.m. at the James City/Williamsburg Community Center, 5301 Longhill Road. Public input is needed to ensure a meaningful plan is developed to guide County decisions in the watershed for years to come.


The County hired Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB), to complete the remaining components of the plan that began in 2006 and was suspended in 2008 due to lack of funding. VHB compiled data gathered by the County’s previous contractor and developed the draft watershed management plan.


The draft plan will be available online for review after the March 11 meeting at  Comments can be sent to Comments can be sent to  Comments received before April 11, 2010, will be used to finalize the plan and posted on the County’s website.


The watershed management plan will be presented to stakeholders and the Board of Supervisors by the end of June 2010.
