In his last budget as James City County Administrator, Sandy Wanner is proposing the FY 2011/2012 General Fund budget at $159,799,342, a 2.2 percent decrease from FY 2010. The budget does not include any tax rate increases or significant fee increases but instead has been balanced by cutting expenditures. “I have tried to do this in a way that avoids excessive pain for our citizens and businesses, those outside agencies we partially fund, and our staff,” Wanner cited in his budget message.
The proposed budget is now in the hands of the Board of Supervisors who will meet during a series of work sessions to review each section. The budget is scheduled to be adopted at the Board’s May 11 regular meeting.
Work sessions will be held in the Building F work session room at the County Government Complex on the following dates:
- Wednesday, April 28, 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 5, 3 p.m.
- Thursday, May 6, 7 p.m.
