Public Hearing Notice - January 5, 2011

 

The Planning Commission of James City County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the County Government Center Board Room, 101-F Mounts Bay Road, James City County, Virginia, to consider the following:

 

HW-0004-2010/SUP-0028-2010: Busch Gardens New Attraction - Oktoberfest.  An application for a special use permit for an attraction with a 26,070-square foot building and locker room addition.  A height limitation waiver has also been requested for parts of the attraction that will not exceed 95 feet above grade.  The property is located in Busch Gardens at 7851 Pocahontas Trail, zoned M-1, Limited-Business Industrial, identified as James City County Real Estate Tax Map No. 5140100009, and designated Limited Industry in the Comprehensive Plan.  Recommended uses include warehousing, office, light manufacturing plants, and public facilities with moderate impacts on the surrounding area.

 

Z-0002-2010/MP-0001-2010/SUP-0029-2010: The Williamsburg Pottery.  An application to rezone a 18.78-acre Parcel located at 6692 Richmond Road from M-1, Limited Business/Industrial with proffers, to M-1, Limited Business/Industrial with amended proffers, amend the adopted Master Plan to relocate one of the signalized entrances and revise associated traffic improvements, and increase the gross square footage of the retail and office area of the project from 161,000 square feet to 188,000 square feet.  The property is identified as James City County Real Estate Tax Map No. 2430100024, and designated by the Comprehensive Plan as Mixed Use, Lightfoot Area. Recommended uses for Mixed Use, Lightfoot Area include transit-oriented mixed-use development with a mixture of limited industry, commercial and moderate density residential.

 

AFD-11-86-2-2010:  Jolly Pond Road Yarmouth Island AFD Addition.   Mr. James H. Richardson has applied to add 10.0 acres to the existing Yarmouth Island Agricultural and Forestal District (AFD-11-86).  The property is located at 1975 Jolly Pond Road and can be further identified as James City County Real Estate Tax Map No. 2930100003.  The Parcel is zoned A-1, General Agriculture, and is designated Rural Lands in the Comprehensive Plan.

 

AFD-11-86-3-2010:  Shields Point Yarmouth Island AFD Addition.   Mr. Hunter Vermillion  has applied to add 124.49 acres to the existing Yarmouth Island Agricultural and Forestal District (AFD-11-86).  The properties are located at 2150, 2260, 2312, 2190 Bush Neck Road and can be further identified as James City County Real Estate Tax Map Nos. 3510100011,3510100012, 2840100006, 2840100007.  The Parcels are zoned A-1, General Agriculture and designated Rural Lands/Conservation Area in the Comprehensive Plan.

 

AFD-09-86-4-2010:  Centerville Road Gordon Creek AFD Addition.   Mr. James H. Richardson  has applied to add 60.0 acres to the existing Gordon Creek Agricultural and Forestal District (AFD-09-86).  The properties are located at 4130 and 4176 Centerville Road and can be further identified as James City County Real Estate Tax Map Nos. 3640100009 &3640100008.  The Parcels are zoned A-1, General Agriculture, and designated Low-Density Residential/Moderate Density Residential in the Comprehensive Plan.
