James City County Emergency Management encourages residents to take advantage of Virginia’s Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday May 25 - 31.  During the week, residents can stock up on supplies for protecting homes and businesses during hurricane season.  Many everyday items costing less than $60 are included such as batteries, cell phone chargers, duct tape and more. Larger items, including portable generators costing less than $1,000, are also included.

For a complete list of eligible items, go to http://www.tax.virginia.gov/.   For information about getting ready for hurricane season in Virginia, visit www.ReadyVirginia.gov.
