James City County Emergency Management encourages residents to take advantage of Virginia’s Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday May 25 - 31. During the week, residents can stock up on supplies for protecting homes and businesses during hurricane season. Many everyday items costing less than $60 are included such as batteries, cell phone chargers, duct tape and more. Larger items, including portable generators costing less than $1,000, are also included.
