New Powhatan District and At-Large Representatives to the Planning Commission Appointed

On January 26, 2010, the James City County Board of Supervisors appointed new At-Large and Powhatan District representatives to the Planning Commission: Mr. Michael Maddocks and Mr. Al Woods respectively.  


Mr. Maddocks has spent over 25 years in banking and financial services and is currently the Senior Vice President and Community Executive for the Tidewater Region for Middleburg Trust Company.  He is a retired Navy Captain and has been active in many community and service organizations such as: recent past board president and twice campaign chair for the United Way of Greater Williamsburg, past chairman of the Williamsburg Marketing and Resource Task Force of the Williamsburg Area Destination and Marketing Committee, and president of the Williamsburg Rotary.  He currently serves in an advisory capacity for the Williamsburg Community Foundation, the Williamsburg Visual Arts Center, and Williamsburg Players. Mr. Maddocks was raised in Williamsburg and is a graduate of Walsingham Academy and Washington and Lee University.    He is an avid rower and member of the Williamsburg Boat Club.


Mr. Woods is a retired corporate executive and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Insituform Technologies.  He is active in the community and serves on the boards of the Williamsburg Community Foundation and Olde Towne Medical Center, is a member of Epsilon Delta Boulé of the Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, chaired Strategic Planning for the Ford’s Colony community, and is an Executive Partner at William and Mary’s Mason Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Woods and his wife have two children and have been County residents for eight years.
