Public Hearing Notice
The Planning Commission of James City County, Virginia, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the County Government Center Board Room, 101-F Mounts Bay Road, James City County, Virginia, to consider the following:
Ordinance to amend Chapter 24, Zoning, Section 24-666, Petition for certiorari to review decision of board; to bring County Code in compliance with State Code § 15.2-2311.
SUP-0020-2010 Diamond Healthcare SUP amendment: An application for a Special Use Permit to allow 17 additional psychiatric beds and a parking expansion on the site of Williamsburg Place, which is located at 5477 and 5485 Mooretown Road. The properties are zoned M-1, Limited Business/Industrial, identified as James City Real Estate Tax Map Nos. 3330100011B and 3330100011C, and designated Limited Industry on the Comprehensive Plan. Recommended uses include warehousing, office, service industries, and public facilities with moderate impacts on surrounding areas.
SUP-0023-2010 Cranston’s Mill Pond-Dam Repair: An application for a Special Use Permit to allow the restoration of a water impoundment greater than 20 acres in size located at 6616 and 6750 Cranston’s Mill Pond Road. The properties are zoned A-1, General Agricultural, identified as James City Real Estate Tax Map Nos. 2230100044 and 2230100042, and designated Conservation Area and Rural Lands on the Comprehensive Plan. Recommended uses for Conservation Areas include hunting and fishing clubs, fish and game preserves, parks, and other open space that complement the natural environment. Recommended uses for Rural Lands include agricultural and forestall activities, together with certain recreational, public or semipublic and institutional uses that require a spacious site and are compatible with the natural and rural surroundings.
SUP-0022-2010 Charlie’s Antiques: An application for a Special Use Permit to allow a 4,000-square foot building for retail sales of plant and garden supplies and antiques at 3645 Toano Woods and 7691 Richmond Road. The properties are zoned A-1, General Agricultural, identified as J James City Real Estate Tax Map Nos. 1330100003A and 1330100004, and designated Low-Density Residential on the Comprehensive Plan. Recommended uses include single-family homes, duplexes, community-oriented facilities, and very limited commercial uses.
