James City County Attorney, Leo Rogers, recently announced Lola Rodriguez Perkins as the new Assistant County Attorney. Perkins began her job on May 9 and fills the position formerly held by Angela King. She will primarily support County departments that include Human Resources, Engineering & Resource Protection including the Wetlands/Chesapeake Bay Board, public safety and Purchasing.
Perkins has experience in local government and strong ties to the area. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1997 from The College of William and Mary and earned her law degree at Pennsylvania State University. She has joined James City County after four years in the Spotsylvania County Attorney’s office as Assistant County Attorney. She also worked as Assistant County Attorney for Chesterfield County, a law clerk to the Hanover County Circuit Court and as a Senior Policy Analyst for the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
“Lola’s experience and knowledge of local government and the Commonwealth of Virginia will be a valuable asset to County departments, the Board of Supervisors and the County overall. We’re extremely pleased that she chose to come back to this area,” said Rogers.
Lola Perkins currently resides in Richmond with her husband, also a College of William and Mary graduate. They hope to relocate to the area soon.
