James City County Police to Offer Firearm Safety Class

In May and June, the James City County Police Department will offer free firearm safety classes to the public. The one session class will cover basic safety, handling, and storage.
Interested adults can attend May 21, June 4, or June 18.
The class will meet at the Law Enforcement Center at 5087 John Tyler Highway from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. The class does not include hands-on training and personal firearms should be left at home in a secure location.
Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Call the James City County Police Department at (757) 253-1800 to register.
Grant funding received from the National Rifle Association Foundation and Project ChildSafe was used to purchase class materials and gunlocks. Free gunlocks are available at the class or by calling Sergeant Steve Humphries at (757) 253-2481.
