James City County website down, EOC not affected
Due to the loss of power at the James City County Government Center, the County’s website, www.jamescitycountyva.gov, is down. The Emergency Operations Center is not affected by the outage. County staff will continue to update Facebook, Twitter, JCCAlert and the Emergency Hotline, 757-875-2424.
James City County officials are receiving reports of blocked and flooded roads and downed trees and power lines throughout the County.
County officials urge all residents to stay off the roads and monitor local media for weather information. If you must travel, approach all intersections with caution especially if there are no stoplights. Report traffic light outages to JCC police dispatch at 757-564-2151. Report downed trees and power lines to the County public inquiry line at 757-564-2140 or 911.
The County’s public shelter which opened Friday evening is located at the James City Williamsburg Community Center, 5301 Longhill Road.
County residents should sign up to receive local emergency alert information at www.jccalert.org. Text messaging charges may apply.
