Joseph Alfonso Papol, 41 years-old, of Allyson Drive in James City County, was arrested this afternoon (5/12/11) for one (1) Count Possession of Child Pornography and 11 counts of 2nd or subsequent Possession of Child Pornography.
The charges are the result of an investigation, which began when Papol took his computer to a local computer repair service for repair and suspected child pornography was found on his hard drive. This was reported to the James City County Police Department and investigators obtained a search warrant for Papol’s residence. On 5/3/11, investigators seized a laptop computer and a laptop computer hard drive from his home. A preliminary forensic examination of the hard drive revealed digital images, which led to the arrest warrants being issued.
He is currently being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond.
