James City County’s Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is hosting a free workshop for local contractors on “How to Get Involved in the Residential Energy Efficiency Market”. The workshop will be held Thursday, February 10, 11 – 2 p.m. at Legacy Hall, 4301 New Town Ave. Lunch will be provided.
The workshop is the beginning of other programs and resources the County is developing to raise awareness on the benefits of residential energy efficiency. Future activities will help generate local jobs and make it easier for homeowners to conserve energy, leading to safer, comfortable, and more affordable housing.
The workshop will give contractors an overview of residential energy efficiency project grants; provide information on Building Performance Institute (BPI) training and certification and opportunities to bid on housing rehabilitation and energy efficiency retrofit projects. Representatives from Southeastern Environmental & Construction (SENCON) will be speaking.
For more information about the Residential Energy Efficiency Market workshop or the Office of Housing and Community Development call 259-5340.
