Contact: Frances C. Geissler, Stormwater Director
The James City County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications until Feb. 23 for citizens interested in serving on the Stormwater Program Advisory Committee. The Board established the Advisory Committee in 2008 to assist the Board and County staff by identifying drainage and flooding problems and other stormwater needs, developing goals and priorities; and participating in public education and outreach initiatives related to the County’s stormwater program. The Committee consists of representatives from each voting district and membership is open to any business or resident of James City County. Prospective members will support the goals and purpose of the Stormwater Program and be advocates for projects and events within the County.
For more information about the stormwater program, interested parties should go to www.jamescitycountyva.gov/stormwater or to www.jamescitycountyva.gov/commissions to fill out the Application to Serve.
Decisions regarding Committee membership are expected during March 2011.
