As James City County begins to develop the second year of the FY11/12 biennial budget, the public is encouraged to give feedback and ideas during the process. The first opportunity is scheduled during the January 11 Board of Supervisors meeting when the annual pre-budget public hearing is opened for citizen comments. The meeting is a 7 p.m. in the Building F Board Room, 101 Mounts Bay Road.

Board Chairman Mary Jones wants to hear what people have to say. “Even though next year’s fiscal budget was planned and adopted last year, we still have many challenges.  Our economy remains uncertain, revenue is flat and we need to see the results of the 2011 General Assembly session. Priorities may change and that’s why it’s important that citizens give the Board and County staff their input,” says Jones.

Citizens can review the FY2012 Budget on the County web site at jamescitycountyva.gov/budget and watch upcoming budget discussions and work sessions on JCC TV (Channel 48 on Cox Cable) and On Demand at jamescitycountyva.gov/jcctv.
