Recently, the James City County Board of Supervisors approved a new voting district map that affects some County voters, where they vote and who they will vote for. To help citizens learn more about the new districts and the redistricting process, the County will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 6:30-8 p.m. at the James City/Williamsburg Community Center, 5301 Longhill Road, rooms A, B and C.
The meeting will provide an overview of the redistricting process and cover the approved redistricting map and the Voting Rights Act. Attendees will also learn about the new voting procedures and equipment that will be in the polling places on November 8. James City County Attorney, Leo Rogers; Voter Registrar, AJ Cole; and County GIS Mapping Supervisor, Kim Hazelwood will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. All County citizens are invited to attend.
