Republican Party Primary set in James City County

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has pre-cleared the Commonwealth of Virginia’s redistricting plan for State Senate. The James City County Redistricting Plan is still pending.


James City County will conduct a Republican Party Primary Election for the Commonwealth of Virginia 3rd Senate District on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011.

As a result of the approved State Redistricting Plan, the 37,723 voters in James City County remaining in the 3rd Senate District are eligible to vote in this election. Those 12,081 voters who have been shifted to the 1st Senate District are not eligible to vote in this election. A map of the new Senate District lines is available at


Polling places for voters in the 3rd Senate District will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.


There are two candidates for this election (there are no write-ins for Primary Elections):
