Arrest made for 4501 News Road fire in James City County

 

On October 2, 2012, the James City County Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) obtained two arrest warrants on one adult male in connection with the burning of a construction utility trailer on August 28, 2012 at 4501 News Rd. in James City County. The FMO also obtained five juvenile petitions against four juveniles in connection with this incident.

 

The adult, Darius Ratcliff, is charged with one felony, 18.2-81 Burning personal property, and one misdemeanor, 18.2-121 Entering property of another for purpose of damaging it. Ratcliff is a 19-year-old male and, at the time of the offense, resided in James City County.

 

Petitions were obtained charging three juveniles with 18.2-121 Entering property of another with intent of damaging it.

 

Two petitions were obtained for a fourth juvenile, 18.2-81 Burning personal property and 18.2-121 Entering property of another for purpose of damaging it.

 

The construction trailer is owned by Counter Production Inc. The trailer was destroyed by the fire.
