James City County’s Erosion and Sediment Control program receives high marks
James City County’s Erosion and Sediment Control program recently received a successful review from the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation and the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board.
The County scored 395 out of a possible 400 points in the areas of program administration, plan of development reviews, compliance inspection and enforcement.
The Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board commended James City County for successfully improving the program to become fully consistent with the requirements of the Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Law and Regulations, thereby providing better protection for Virginia’s soil and water resources.
The Commonwealth of Virginia reviews mandated erosion and sediment control programs every five years.
