Man tries to lure a 12-year-old girl into his vehicle
Around 7:30 a.m. on April 23, a 12-year-old girl walked to the school bus stop at the corner of Deerspring Road and Leon Drive in James City County. Upon arriving, she realized that she had missed the bus and started walking back down Leon Drive. She reported that a dark green car, described to be similar in style to a Toyota Camry or Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a black male, drove up next to her. The male asked her if she had seen his dog. When she said that she had not he told her to get in the car with her. The girl ran down the street screaming. The vehicle drove off toward John Tyler Highway.
The male was described to be a dark skin black male in his 20’s with light green eyes, possibly wearing contacts, with short dark hair, wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans. He was described as being “grungy.” The vehicle reportedly had a blue baseball hat in the back window with a messy back seat.
The James City County Police asks that anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or the vehicle to contact the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
